When I was just a little guy I would always sing with my mom in the car. She was probably the biggest influence on me early on. I was introduced to country, disco & Motown. I had some great times with my family & the parties we had. Later on in life my cousin Steve turned me on to playing music & singing in front of a microphone. If it weren't for him, I would not have had the courage to go as far as I have gone. THANK YOU STEVE!!! Steve & I started a band while we were attending North Dakota State University. That didn't pan out because I left school early to join up with some guys to jam in a basement somewhere in Woodbury, MN. After a few months of rehearsals, we would be known as Merlin. We had a good run but it wouldn't last. Nate, Jon & myself got back together after a few months of healing & started what was later to be called Uncle Chunk. I started to learn guitar at that point because we didn't have anyone to jam with. So before we knew it I was playing the guitar. I was not confident in my playing alone so we sought after a guitar player to fit in with us knuckleheads. In walked Mike. We had already decided on someone else when he came to the audition, but when he played for us, sat down to talk with us, Uncle Chunk was born. We have been a band ever since. The fans of Uncle Chunk are the best people I have ever met. You guys are what make us happen. If it weren't for the wonderful support of Uncle Chunksters, we would not be out here still playing music. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!
